You probably read the news and even watched the incredible short video, but if you haven't  I invite you to for it is amazing how far we have come in some areas like prosthetic technologies and how far behind we are in others - like providing the gift of a wheelchair to those that need it most and more...

See the unbelievable short video about the Real Bionic Woman  & Her Story

Claudia Mitchell (CNN)

(CBS) - She may not have superhero powers, but the power Claudia Mitchell has over her bionic arm is pretty super indeed. The 26-year-old can control movement using only her mind. "I want my hand open and there it goes, I want my elbow to go down and it just goes down," she says.

The former U.S. Marine lost her arm in a 2004 motorcycle accident. She learned about the new technology after reading an article on Jessie Sullivan. Sullivan was the first to receive a bionic arm after losing both of his in an electrical accident...

On the other hand, there are over 100 million people that NEED, but do not have a wheelchair, while one can be donated for ONLY $45.

And luckily there is a charity that does an amazing job in this area.

Watch the short video on the FreeWheelchair Mission site and Donate if you feel moved to...

And several moving stories of Innovators for transforming lives through the gift of mobility.

James & Maria Graham
James & Maria Graham decided not to sign up for a traditional registry but wanted to
include the Free Wheelchair Mission on theirwishlist. Friends were invited to make a contribution to the mission instead of gifting the couple with traditional gifts.

AlexandraAlexandra, an 8 year-old girl from Southern CA, has committed to donating enough of her own hard-earned money EACH MONTH to purchase one wheelchair. Read her heart-warming story and see her on video. Take her personal challenge and match her monthly contribution with one of your own!    read more

Susan in FijiGoing the Extra Thousands of Miles, a Newport Beach woman says wheelchairs taken to Fiji are like a "miracle under a mango tree" to the poor and disabled living on its islands. Read her story from THE LOS ANGELES TIMES.

I am writing as a proud mother of a soon to be 8 year old, who along with his best friend decided they didn't need birthday presents this year. Instead at their birthday party today they asked their friends for a small donation to the "wheelchair fund", as Christian calls it....this party raised over $600...thank you for inspiring my son to know he can make a difference. - Adriana Glosser, AZ.
